WE ENVISION a school in which all educators, parents, students, and shareholders form a mutually respectful and supportive partnership for the purpose of creating an environment where confident, self-directed individuals strive to maintain high standards in a challenging and supportive learning environment.



WE BELIEVE that the community must recognize, support, and provide the opportunity, through its school system, to develop the widely divergent skills and interests of its children.

WE BELIEVE that all professional staff members must share with parents the responsibility of providing for the student's physical, academic, and emotional-social needs as well as fostering the beliefs that one's formal schooling is merely the beginning of one's quest for knowledge.

WE BELIEVE that the Union Middle School Board and all professional staff members must create and accept the responsibility for establishing a school climate that stimulates the growth and creativity of each child.

WE BELIEVE that we must provide programs to students that recognize the worth of each individual and enable students to exercise freedom, to experience a balanced pattern of success and give each student an opportunity to explore and contemplate, a chance for each student to examine human values, and an occasion to examine his/her individual commitments, encourage them to maintain his/her own individuality and instill in them the need to seek even greater achievement. 

We're very proud of our what we are accomplishing here at Union Middle School. Our success is due to a combination of dedicated teachers and staff, conscientious parents and community members, and students who want to achieve their highest potential. Our goals are lofty, but achievable.

They are:

  • To provide a positive, safe, and supportive environment for students and staff.
  • To meet the social, emotional, and physical needs of each student.
  • To help each student build and acquire a positive image.
  • To build positive parent/teacher/student relationships.
  • To provide a diversified, exploratory curriculum and activities that will provide daily successful experiences for each child and will stimulate and nurture his/her intellectual development.

Together we can assure that our goals are met. We can help each and every child at Union Middle School not only gain the knowledge that will assure a productive future, but the self-confidence to achieve his or her dreams.
